I am delighted to begin my third year at Steiner Ranch Elementary.  This is my 25th year in education, and it is my 15th year in school and district elementary school administration.  I spent most of my education career in the Spring Branch Independent School District in West Houston, serving there as teacher, elementary mathematics instructional coach, district mathematics specialist, elementary principal, and district executive director of elementary teaching & learning.  My husband Allen and I relocated here in May of 2015 to be closer to family, as two of our three grown children (and more importantly, our two grandchildren!) live in Austin.  I am blessed to have the privilege of leading this amazing campus of talented teachers and eager students, and I will continue to do my utmost to ensure that your children are safe, happy, and engaged in the best learning available in Leander ISD! Although I am frequently in classrooms and team meetings, my door is open to you and your family.  I hope you always feel welcomed as valued partners in your child's learning, and I look forward to an amazing year at Steiner Ranch Elementary.

Assistant Principal
Rebecca Rainey

I am honored to serve Steiner Ranch Elementary as Assistant Principal again this year. It will be my seventh year in this position at SRE!  My professional career has always had a connection to the Steiner Ranch area.  I began my journey as a first and third grade teacher and later as an instructional technology facilitator, assisting teachers with integrating technology into the curriculum.  Before becoming an assistant principal, I served as instructional coach, supporting teachers with behavior management, classroom systems, curriculum, and planning.  I love living in the beautiful city of Austin and bleed University of Texas orange.  My husband and I have two little ones at home, Sloane and Hayes. Please contact me if you have concerns about attendance, discipline, or bullying.  Mrs. Robinson and I spend much of our time in classrooms, but would love to meet with you.

Volunteer Info:
If you are new to Steiner Ranch Elementary or if you are a returning volunteer, you must complete a background check through LISD. Click
here to complete the volunteer application. All current LISD volunteers are required to reactivate their volunteer application each year. Once approved you will sign in/out at the front office with the receptionist.
Birthday Celebrations: We hare happy to recognize birthdays, if your child's teacher has given her consent. This consent from the teacher is very important since your child's classroom may have a serious allergy issue. If approved, please leave treats in front office, and teacher will distribute them when possible. To preserve instructional time, we cannot allow balloons, favor bags or visitors to the classroom during this time. Thank you for understanding. Click here to see Birthday policy.
No Balloons/Flowers in Classroom: for celebrations at school, we cannot allow balloons or flowers in the classroom; like Valentine's Day, birthdays, etc...we appreciate you understanding.
AM Drop Off: Although parents of students in grades K - 2 with visitor's badges are welcome to wait with their children in the cafeteria in the morning until teachers arrive to walk the students to class, all students in grades K - 5 will walk to classrooms independently or with their teacher. Campus staff will be waiting in the front hallway every day to help any student not yet confident in walking alone.
Transportation Changes:  We ask that you let us know before 2:00 PM via phone call or written note the day that your child's dismissal plans are to be changed. NO EMAILS FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS. Thank you in advance!

The foundational literacy and mathematics instruction in the elementary grades is essential to success in middle school, high school and beyond.  Did you know that when children are absent as few as one day every two weeks, the cumulative time missed in the classroom can accumulate to two full weeks in the school year lost to instruction?  As we continue these conversations about attendance, thanks for all you do already to ensure your students get to school every day, and on time!

ABSENCE NOTE- PLEASE TURN INTO FRONT OFFICE - this is just an example; you may use this one or your own personal notes, and/or Dr's notes.
